The Oaks of Righteousness
Background
Singlehood is a very interesting but challenging phase of life. While some may choose to be single throughout life as it is reported of Paul the Apostle, some come into singlehood through family breakdown or death of a spouse. Singlehood is a crucial time for definition, identity and direction. It is important that a ‘safety net’ is available to help each individual cope with/overcome the peculiar challenges that a person may face in his/her singlehood.
Word Fountain identifies the various needs and seeks to provide a forum for fulfillment in singlehood. Based on the creative and active participation of a core group, The Oaks of Righteousness forum was conceived and birthed in 2007 to facilitate a ministry that cares for singles.
It was agreed that the foundation should be RIGHTEOUNESS, therefore ‘OAKS OF RIGHTEOUNESS’ was envisioned from the book of Isaiah 61 verse 3. The oak tree grows from a little acorn into a majestic tree! Although it takes time to put its root down, once established the tree endures from generation to generation and can withstand all weather!
