Beloved,

Happy New Year! By the mercies of God, we have been preserved to come into 2012 and experience God's goodness! Our hope is built on God's mercies and steadfast love in the midst of groaning, moaning and murmuring! We hereby appreciate you for your support and prayers in 2011! A big thanks to everyone who participated in the End of Year activities. We believe we are all blessed and equipped to walk more closely with God in 2012 by His grace.

It appears that since September 11, 2001, the world has been filled with people looking for comfort, respite, hope, and salvation! The crashing and trashing of the 'Twin Towers' was a trumpet call to our generation - "This is the beginning of coordinated evil!"

Last year, the natural disasters that plagued planet earth were costed at $40b apart from the emotional and physical pain inflicted. Each of the disastrous events that unfolded made spiritual, economic and political world leaders stand up each time in search of words of encouragement and hope! They also provoked questions such as:

• What good is God in situations like these?

• Where Is God When It Hurts?,

• Does Prayer Make Any Difference?

• Why Bother with Church?

There is a deep longing in almost everyone:

• the desire for change,

• the hope that somehow God can wrest permanent good out of this flawed planet and also out of us its flawed inhabitants.

Dare we entertain such a hope? Psalm 50:1-4. There is a clarion call on planet earth to give account. However, in verse 5, there is a call for God's saints to be gathered unto Him.

Romans 1:18-3:20 "the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of man, who hold the truth in unrighteousness......."

Romans 1:22-23. We know that the travail did not start yesterday. The travail started when the blood of Jesus was shed at Calvary - darkness fell; and the earth groaned with earthquake that made the dead to rise! The travail is progressive and becoming more intensive! Access to global new through technology makes it possible for us to be inundated by 'Breaking News'.

The reality is that while Creation and Christians groan, the hope of believers is that all things will work together for the GOOD of them that love God and are called according to His purpose! (Romans 1:28). The gap of knowledge that we suffer is 'what we should pray for!" (Romans 1:26), What else should we be praying for now? Our priorities and practice of prayer need the input and coordination of the Holy Spirit more than ever before.

Does anyone have an excuse for not believing in God? The search for God in the midst of horror, disaster, and loss has confounded believers for centuries. “What good is God?” Many of us have experienced the trial of our faith at personal levels. Now, we are going through global shaking. Everything that can be shaken, will be shaken! If you have believed God before, you can not stop believing now. David said, "I would have fainted if I had not believed that I will see the goodness of God in the land of the living."

The Good Year starts with Good News:

1) God is Almighty! When He shakes the earth and rescues His own (Noah, Isaac, Joseph, etc.) . Are you one of His?

2) Jesus is the same - Yesterday, Today & Forever - He is the Rock of Ages. Have you found your place in Him?

3) The earth is the Lord's & the fullness thereof - He decides the course of event.

4) The faith you applied in your personal challenges is what will work at the time! - Faith in God overcomes the world.

5) Draw life from Romans 8:27-28:

A) We must not stop praying. However, we must make room for the Holy Spirit to make intercession for us!

B) Love God - it is no longer enough for you and I to claim that God loves us, we also need to love God and demonstrate our love for Him - keep His commandments, love your neighbour

C) Find out God's purpose in everything and fulfil it! - 2 Timothy 1:8-12 Be not ashamed of the testimony of our Lord & our His servants, afflictions of the gospel

Rise up into 2012 loving God, walking and working in His purpose! You will surely shout your victories in Jesus name.
